For 2025 Kindergarten, the hours for the 3 Kindy groups are:
Unit 1 
Mon & Tues 8.00am – 3.30pm Rosellas (funded)
Wed to Fri 9.00am to 2.00pm Lorikeets (non-funded)

Unit 2 
Wed to Fri 9.00am to 2.00pm Kookaburras (funded)

After Kindy Care Mon to Fri until 5.00pm

What age does my child have to be to attend Kenmore Kindergarten?

Children born between 1/7/20 to 30/6/21 are eligible for our 2025 Kindergarten groups.

Children born between 1/7/21 to 30/6/22 are eligible for our 2026 Kindergarten groups.

Question 3

Does my child have to stay for the full hours of the group?

Accepted Answer

No, however normal fees will still apply.

Question 4

If my child misses a day due to illness or other reason, can he/she make it up on another day?"

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, no, as children from the other groups attend on those days.

Question 5

If my child cannot attend the kindergarten for a couple of weeks, do I have to pay for that time?"

Accepted Answer

Yes, if your child has a place in a group, then all fees are to be paid for the full year. Fees are due at the start of each term.

My child has not had a sleep during the day for some time, does he/she need to sleep/rest at kindy?"

Accepted Answer

As your child will be at the Centre for more than 4 hours, it is a requirement that all children are offered a rest time. Some children sleep, some lie on their bed and rest.Yes, as your child will be at the Centre for more than 4 hours, it is a requirement that all children have rest time. Not all children sleep, however they lie on the bed and have a rest while they listen to stories or music. Children are welcome to bring a quiet fiddle toy in their sheet bag.

Can my child start at the kindergarten later in the year?

If you would like that place to be held for your child, you are required to pay all fees, even if your child is not attending the kindergarten. Otherwise, you can contact us closer to the time and see if we have any vacancies.

Question 8

Which group will my child be offered a place in and how are the groups decided upon?

Accepted Answer

Kindergarten children are offered a place in entry date order, as per the wait list. Any children currently enrolled at the Centre automatically have first preference of groups.

In 2025, we will offer non-funded 3 to 5 year old children a place in a specific non-funded group. This group will include 3 year olds, any children allocating their 15 hours of funded to another program and any kindergarten aged child joining a second group at Kenmore District Kindergarten.

Question 9

Are my child’s Kindergarten fees funded by the Government?

The Government will only fund one 15 hour group for a kindy aged eligible child in 2024.
