Our new sign has gone up on Moggill Road! The benefit of this new sign is that our Kindy will now be more visible in the community.
Before this sign, we had a changeable road sign which was great for informing our community of special events and programs that we offer at Kenmore District Kindergarten. Unfortunately, a motorist crashed into our sign earlier this year and the changeable winch style signs are no longer permitted in Queensland, due to safety concerns.
We applied to replace the changeable sign with a digital road sign, but we were unable to seek council approval for that option.
We are pleased to have our new static road sign which was designed by two graphic design volunteers, Jane Whiteoak (past parent) and Antoinette Mitchell (current parent) alongside the graphic designer at Signpac, and was approved by our current management committee. To the bottom of the sign, you will see the designers brought in patterns from our Acknowledgment plaque, which can be seen at our entrance gate. Credit to artist, Liwingu, from Aboriginal Steel Art.
